Today, DPS Greater Faridabad organised a workshop on ‘Feel Alive’ by Sony BBC Earth for all the students of class IV.
The workshop began with a very interesting and engaging warm up activity -“hymns of Nature”, which instantly engrossed the students with the theme of the workshop.
Students were shown an enlightening video of some real life personalities like Steve Lall(a former air force pilot who calls living in nature, his ‘paradise’), Akash Vukoti (the youngest Spelling Bee Champ), Harnamm Kaur (known as the Beard Lady and is suffering from PCOS) and their extraordinary stories. Post this, the students were asked a few questions based on that video and were given absolutely valuable ecofriendly gifts.
There was another fascinating activity named ‘Spellibrity’, which grabbed the attention of the students. Mr. Himanshu Berry shared some less known yet interesting and awakening facts through the videos supported by the Sony BBC Earth channel.
Every activity was followed by a quiz so as to keep the students attentive & alive. Some DIY’s were also shared with the students which aimed at re-use of plastic bottles. The live demonstrations were also given, through which the students understood the method easily. The workshop came to an end with ‘The Grand Quiz ‘ in which participants were selected randomly. The winner was awarded a book by Sony BBC Earth and the participants were also given consolation prizes. It was an educative session. The students were made aware of the importance of saving our environment from various pollutants and how the younger generation help reduce it.
