The festival of Teej celebrates the bounty of nature, arrival of rains and greenery surrounded by social activities, rituals and customs. It is a festival that marks the advent of Monsoonor Saawan. It is also believed to be a celebration of the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Young Dipsites of class Nursery and Prep celebrated virtual Teej with glee and euphoria on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Looking at the students wearing traditional green coloured attires enhanced the charm and mood of the celebration and raised it to the next level.Students of class Nursery enjoyed colour mixing activity (introduction to green colour), PPT on Teej, mehandi craft and bingo game and learnt about the significance and importance of this day through these activities. Students of class Prep created beautiful ‘SaawankaJhoola’ with paper craft and decorated it with cutout of flowers and leaves. Some of them even used fresh flowers and leaves to decorate it. This ‘JhoolaCraft’ reminded us of the lovely swing at our school’s Happiness Park that we used to decorate every year on Teej. Students and parents looked mesmerized while dancing to the tunes of Teej folk songs and having a feast of Ghevar (sweet) along with their family members. The mehandi adorned palms of little girls and tattoo crafted hands of little boys totally stole our hearts. Happy Teej!
