Rashtra Gaan-Desh ka Maan-Republic Day Celebrations @ DPS, Greater Faridabad- Jan 26, 2023.

“The essence of India, which really unites us, is not ethnicity, or nationality or religion. It is an idea—that you can come from humble circumstances and do great things.”

Republic Day, when the country marks and celebrates the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950, as the governing document of India and thus, turning the nation into a newly formed republic. The day swells the hearts of all Indians with pride and the feeling of patriotism. Every year DPS Greater Faridabad celebrates the day to remember the sacrifices of our leaders, recall our glorious past, revisit our golden heritage and feel proud of our robust democracy, with zeal and fervour. Following the protocol, this year too, the school celebrated the 74th Republic Day on Thursday, 26 January, 2023 ‘RASHTRA GAAN: DESH KA MAAN’ in association with the most prestigious Newspaper Dainik Jagran Limited – India’s leading media and communications group with its interests spanning across Print, OOH, Activations, Radio and Digital.

The event commenced on a warm sunny morning in the open ground of the school where the enthusiastic and devoted fraternity of DPS Greater Faridabad gathered to pay tribute to this great nation which has endowed its citizens with liberty and sovereignty. The aesthetically decorated ambience of the school with flower pots, banners and tri-colour national flags looked warm and welcoming.

The celebration began with the sprightly warm-up exercise Chair Zumba by the distinguished audience including the guests of honours and parents under the direction of our music department faculty. This was followed by the Lighting of Lamp and Saraswati Vandana.  Thereafter, the chief guest Shri Kishan Pal Gujjar and the presiding guests were invited to unfurl the tri-coloured flag. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged to uphold the honour and integrity of our Nation. The mellifluous rendition of the National Anthem shrouded the atmosphere with the spirit of devout nationalism.

Thereafter, the respected Principal Mrs. Surjeet Khanna warmly welcomed the honourable chief guest Shri Kishan Pal Gujjar, Union Minister-Power and Heavy Industries, presiding guests Mrs. Renu Bhatia, Chairperson Haryana Women Commission, Director of Dainik Jagran Group Mr. Vijender Bansal, Mrs. Shail Bala Jain, Founder Patron of Shail Group, Pro. VC Mr. Rohit Jainendra Jain, DPS Greater Faridabad and other eminent personalities which included inspiring role models of Indian society, political leaders of eminence, dynamic civil servants of repute, motivating icons of community service, outstanding Principals of reputed schools and ever supportive grandparents and parents of our Dipsites. The principal shared the moments of delight with everyone when the school was bestowed with various prestigious awards and honours, recognitions received by her as a visionary Principal, wins at Inter-DPS Events; State, National and International level wins at sports, etc. which keep motivating the entire DPS Greater Faridabad fraternity to keep growing with their heads held high. She also motivated the students with her pearls of wisdom and highlighted the importance of the Constitution and its unique features such as Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic enshrined in the preamble of the Constitution. She accentuated that one should feel pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of Unity. She ended her speech with impassioned words of great martyr ‘Bhagat Singh’- “मेरे जज्बातों से इस कदर वाकिफ है मेरी कलम, मैं इश्क भी लिखना चाहूँ तो, इंकलाब लिखा जाता है |”

Next, a heart-felt and robust patriotic poem was presented by a very spirited DPS Greater Faridabad, Sector-81 alumni Akshit Tomar. Then, the guest of honour and director of Dainik Jagran Group Mr. Vijender Bansal addressed the august gathering with his intellectual and insightful words.

It was followed by a choir presentation ‘Prakriti ki Pukaar’ and a jingoistic performance through ‘Teri Mitti’ song by the students of grade VII and VIII. Listening to and singing patriotic songs, triggered in the heart of each one present in the ground, many emotions; pride, love and respect for the country

The enterprising Team of Dainik Jagran displayed a remarkable gesture by felicitating and recognizing ordinary citizens who have made a significant impact on our society through their exemplary work and commendable services in any field. The recipients (Sarohkaars) of the honours were- Ms. Simran Lamba, Population Control; Mr. Anshu Gupta, women empowerment; Mr. Ritesh, water conservation; Mr. Manmohan Bhatia, Healthy Society; Mr. Ravinder Manchanda, well educated society; Mr. Jaswant Panwar, Environment Protection and Agrani Club of DPS Greater Faridabad, Sec-81. Dainik Jagran group also felicitated Pro VC Shri Rohit Jainendra Jain and Principal, Mrs. Surjeet Khanna for their invaluable contribution towards society and education. Following this, the Haryana State Bureau of Dainik Jagran Group Mr. Bijender Bansal was honored by DPS Greater Faridabad for his remarkable efforts and his vision to build a better society and a great nation.

The chief guest Shri Kishan Pal Gujjar addressed the students and urged them to do their best and feel proud to be Indian. He ended his speech with an inspiring message to create a great nation through collective efforts from all individuals.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Pro-Vice Chairman, Mr. Rohit Jainendra Jain who thanked the distinguished guests and the Dainik Jagran Group for their incredible initiative to make this day memorable for DPS Greater Faridabad family.

The celebration couldn’t end without paying our heartfelt tribute to all the heroes and martyrs because of whom we are able to rest our heads comfortably and safely in our abodes. Therefore, to further kindle the spirit of patriotism, the students presented a soulful performance Hum Hindustani, another patriotic presentation by the young Dipsites of Primary wing.

The day, celebrated with great éclat, culminated with heads held high in pride and hearts resounding ‘Samuhik Salaam Tirange ke Naam’- National Anthem and Grand Photograph. The live telecast of the program was streamed on the Facebook page of the school. Everyone dispersed with a lively stride and a spring in their steps. It was indeed a day well dedicated to the cause of the nation.
