Learning by doing leaves a lasting impression on a child’s mind. Keeping this thought in mind an Online Activity on the topic –Fun with expanded numbers was organized on Friday, July 23rd,2021 for the young mathematicians of Class-I. Expanded form is an alternative way for students to write a given number and focus on the value of each digit. It is a great way to reinforce the concept of place value. The topic was integrated with craft where students displayed expanded form of a given number using paper strips and paper blocks. They also answered oral questions like, what comes before and after the given numbers. The activity helped each child to have a better understanding of the topic.
