Our Independence has a great significance in every citizen’s life. It reminds us that our freedom is sacred and we have gained it at the cost of the precious lives of martyrs. To pay tribute to our freedom fighters, brave soldiers and the new category of heroes ‘corona warriors’, Classes I and II celebrated the 74th Independence Day through a delightful week long celebration – ‘My India, My Pride’.
The celebration comprised of a series of activities. On 10th August, 2020 our young Dipsites enjoyed learning and singing the age old favourite song – ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha’ and our National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’. The students participated enthusiastically in the discussion on our National flag- Tiranga and its significance. This was followed by a Tricolour Badge Making Activity where the students learnt to design a beautiful badge for themselves and their family members. They further unfurled their creativity by making the Tiranga with the help of the link shared by the teacher.
On 14th August, 2020, the students participated in the quiz conducted during the zoom session. Each and every child of the class participated in the GK Online Quiz on the important facts about India. This was followed by the preparation of a sumptuous treat. The students mastered their cookery skills by preparing a ‘Tricolour Sandwich’ using cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese etc. They even learnt the art of plating the sandwich in the tray along with wafers, tomato ketchup and mint chutney.
The whole hearted participation of our Dipsites and their family members clearly showcased their utmost fervour, zest and spirit of patriotism for India. This 74th Independence Day celebration provided an opportunity to our Dipsites to celebrate this pious day virtually and create a memory to be cherished for life time.
