“When children pretend, they’re using their imaginations to move beyond the bounds of reality. A stick can be a magic wand. A sock can be a puppet. A small child can be a superhero.” – Fred Rogers
Considering the importance of role play in building confidence, enhancing creativity and imagination, developing speaking and listening skills, as well as giving children the opportunity to reflect on and develop their knowledge of a topic, an Intra-Section Role Play Competition –“Incredible India” was organised for the students of Class-I on 29th and 30th August, 2022.The excitement of our young actors knew no bounds as they waited eagerly for their turn to perform. Resplendent in their beautiful costumes and glowing in all their finery, they emulated their favourite Indian Icons and National Symbols with confidence and passion. The students enacted and verbalized the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi, A.P.J Abdul Kalam, Indira Gandhi, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, etc. Not only this, the participants also highlighted the importance of our national symbols. The handmade props added grandeur to their presentation. It was a great learning experience for the audience as they observed the different characters roles with interest and curiosity and cheered them to boost up their spirits. Our comperes were superb at their delivery and were appreciated by one and all present in the audience. The performance of our young Dipsites was admired and evaluated by our esteemed parent members of the Mentor Studio programme Ms. Neha Bhutani, Ms. Gunjan Dua and Ms. Sunayana Sharma. All the students put up their best show and were awarded with a beautiful paper bouquet and certificate by our respected Headmistress ma’am Ms. Ritu Jain. The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students.
