“When children pretend, they’re using their imaginations to move beyond the bounds of reality. A stick can be a magic wand. A sock can be a puppet. A small child can be a superhero.” – Fred Rogers
Children at the age of 2+ are very inquisitive with unlimited questions (what? where? why???) as they are on the threshold of exploring the world around them.
We, at DPS Greater Faridabad aim at providing a warm, nurturing environment filled with learning opportunities through an integrated and STEAM-based curriculum where children are invited to think creatively and get immersed in the waves of their imaginative thoughts.
WE STRONGLY BELIEVE IN
Learning through play-based inquiry
Children are happiest when they are engrossed in play. It is actually the key to learning which capitalizes on children’s natural curiosity and exuberance. Children improve their motor skills, enhance their imagination and creativity by playing.
Critical thinking and visible learning
Learning to think critically is one of the most important skills that today’s children will need it for the future. Their understanding is apparent in what they say, what they do, and what they depict.
Building responsive relationships
We believe learning takes place in the context of relationships. When relationships are supportive, children can demonstrate their intelligence, creativity, and problem solving abilities.
Affluent Literacy and Math Experience
Language development, literacy, and mathematical skills are foundational to a child’s growth and success in life.
HELPING YOUNG LEARNERS ACHIEVE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL
Welcome and Free Play
Children are welcome into a warm, beautifully set-up classroom filled with energizing music. Through play and social interactions, children channelize their energies and settle into the environment.
Circle Time is not a subject but is a part of an overall whole-school strategy to encourage positive group interactions that energizes children and fosters a sense of community. Children engage in yoga exercises, poem sing-alongs, storytelling, and guided discussions
To help children explore and investigate to answer their questions various discovery stations are created. It focuses on sensory exploration, fine motor skills, read-alouds, art and design explorations, music, and pretend-play. They offer many opportunities to promote children’s learning.
Interesting walls and interactive installations are a part of this station. These sensory experiences are an opportunity for children to express their emotions and interests. These stations allow children to immerse in smelling and tasting experiences, listening activities, and touch and feel games.
Storytime and Book Station
Storytelling provides children with a window to new worlds. It allows them to learn new ideas and information; without realising it, they are learning valuable life lessons through hearing an engaging, exciting story. Picture reading books and Read-alouds are a central part of this station which promotes literacy and helps children build their vocabulary.
Art and Design Station
Art and design can help children to communicate effectively and to express themselves and their feelings without words. There is no doubt that art and craft are fun activities for kids which improves fine motor skills, encourage focus, and nurtures creativity. Children explore a range of colours and paints with different techniques like thumb printing, cotton dabbing, vegetable printing, etc.
Outdoor gyms are what some people would call a “child’s paradise.” They learn to twist, turn, roll, jump, run, balance and hop. Happy Hoppers Playhouse is equipped with three types of outdoor Spaces-active, social and experimental. The active play area enables the children to develop their gross motor skills through football, cycling, crawling, etc. The sandpit area and splash pool encourage them to play around and have fun.
Snack time is an ideal opportunity for children to mingle, enjoy and learn about different types of food. Sharing food with your friends not only created a bond but also encourages healthy food habits.
WE ARE A PURPOSEFUL SCHOOL
To foster communication between the teachers and the parents and to develop a trustworthy partnership between the two a meticulously planned interactive forum is organized at the beginning of the session. Here the parents are briefed about the various routine aspects, rules, requirements, etc. The teacher also addresses the queries of the parents.
Parent communication App(ERP)
Using a dedicated in-classroom app teachers mark attendance, report daily classwork and homework.
Parent-Teacher Partnership Meeting
These meetings are held every 3 months and allow both teacher and parents to work for the positive modification of the child’s performance.
We accommodate individual sleep patterns with personal cots keeping in mind the comfort of our tiny tots.
Happy Hoppers Play House has five classrooms –; a home classroom and an adjacent classroom for group work, special projects, and activities. Each classroom is filled with appropriate learning materials and plays centers which children are free to explore. Theme-based centers, as well as Dramatic play areas, reading nooks, sensory tables, and manipulatives, are thoroughly designed for developing the academic skills of the children.
To create a sense of calmness and bring about awareness regarding nature we introduce them to plants from an early age. This also helps increase children’s curiosity, awareness, and familiarisation with nature.
Professional with passion
The Student-Teacher ratio ensures that every child gets personalized care and attention which is very critical at this tender age. This also helps in meeting their social and emotional needs.
At Happy hoppers Playhouse we have:-
