“When children pretend, they’re using their imaginations to move beyond the bounds of reality. A stick can be a magic wand. A sock can be a puppet. A small child can be a superhero.” – Fred Rogers
Children at the age of 2+ are very inquisitive with unlimited questions (what? where? why???) as they are on the threshold of exploring the world around them.
We, at DPS Greater Faridabad, recognize the importance of the foundational years in a child’s development, as emphasized by the National Education Policy 2020. Our aim is to provide a warm, nurturing environment filled with learning opportunities through an integrated and STEAM-based curriculum. Here, children are encouraged to think creatively and get immersed in the waves of their imaginative thoughts, laying a strong foundation for their future growth and learning.
WE STRONGLY BELIEVE IN
HELPING YOUNG LEARNERS ACHIEVE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL
Discovery Station
To help children explore and investigate to answer their questions various discovery stations are created. It focuses on sensory exploration, fine motor skills, read-alouds, art and design explorations, music, and pretend-play. They offer many opportunities to promote children’s learning.
Sensory Station
Interesting walls and interactive installations are a part of this station. These sensory experiences are an opportunity for children to express their emotions and interests. These stations allow children to immerse in smelling and tasting experiences, listening activities, and touch and feel games.
Storytime and Book Station
Storytelling provides children with a window to new worlds. It allows them to learn new ideas and information; without realising it, they are learning valuable life lessons through hearing an engaging, exciting story. Picture reading books and Read-alouds are a central part of this station which promotes literacy and helps children build their vocabulary.
Art and Design Station
Art and design can help children to communicate effectively and to express themselves and their feelings without words. There is no doubt that art and craft are fun activities for kids which improves fine motor skills, encourage focus, and nurtures creativity. Children explore a range of colours and paints with different techniques like thumb printing, cotton dabbing, vegetable printing, etc.
Outdoor Play
Outdoor gyms are what some people would call a “child’s paradise.” They learn to twist, turn, roll, jump, run, balance and hop. Happy Hoppers Playhouse is equipped with three types of outdoor Spaces-active, social and experimental. The active play area enables the children to develop their gross motor skills through football, cycling, crawling, etc. The sandpit area and splash pool encourage them to play around and have fun.
WE ARE A PURPOSEFUL SCHOOL
Familiarisation Programme
To foster communication between the teachers and the parents and to develop a trustworthy partnership between the two a meticulously planned interactive forum is organized at the beginning of the session. Here the parents are briefed about the various routine aspects, rules, requirements, etc. The teacher also addresses the queries of the parents.
Classrooms
Happy Hoppers Play House has five classrooms –; a home classroom and an adjacent classroom for group work, special projects, and activities. Each classroom is filled with appropriate learning materials and plays centers which children are free to explore. Theme-based centers, as well as Dramatic play areas, reading nooks, sensory tables, and manipulatives, are thoroughly designed for developing the academic skills of the children.
