Festivals are the supreme source of delight and bliss as they unite people, rejuvenate the souls and fill our lives with vibrant colours of happiness. To introduce our little dipsites to the divinity and beauty of festivals, we at DPS Greater Faridabad celebrated the festival of Lord Ganesha, ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ with great pomp and gaiety for the students of Class Nursery over an online session on Friday, August 21, 2020. The enthusiastic participation of our tiny tots made the celebration exquisite. The students learnt the significance of the festival through a captivating presentation. It helped them understand that the festival is marked with the installation of Lord Ganesha’s idol to seek His blessings by offering prayers and sweets. The relevance of ‘Modak and Mouse’ was also beautifully narrated to the little ones. Their eyes sparkled with joy as they saw the clippings of colourful and musical processions of ‘Ganesh Visarjan’and the eventual immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha in water. To mark the occasion students also made an attractive Ganesha idol using play dough which helped in enhancing their creative and fine motor skills. The session came alive with the mesmerizing chanting of ‘GanpatiBappaMorya’ and watching our little munchkins dance on the rhythmic beats ofthe song was indeed a feast for the eyes.
The celebration brought our little Dipsites much closer to the splendid beauty of Indian culture.
