Experiential Learning- In Concurrence With The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020- March 29, 2022

A workshop on “Experiential Learning- In Concurrence with The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020” was organized by DPS Greater Faridabad on Tuesday, 29th March, 2022. The resource person was Mr. Dhiren Doshi, a well-known author of the highly popular series Cordova Learning Series- Science for CBSE and ICSE schools for classes 1 to 8 and EVS for Classes 1 to 5. It was attended by Headmistress (Middle Wing), Ms. Sanjana Mahajan, Headmistress (Primary Wing (Ms. Ritu Jain) and around 90 faculty members of Grade Nur-VIII.


The session started with a light conversation with the resource person on how to use operational pedagogy in the classes. It was reiterated that educators must focus on effective methods of learning- ‘I hear and & I forget; I see & I remember; I do & I understand’. Mr. Dhiren Doshi explicitly explained The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020- Experiential Learning, i.e. “Learning from Experience”, Role of the teacher & Benefits of Experiential Education. In order to meet the demands of the world that has changed education from the foundational years should provide knowledge, understanding and skills to develop qualities of creativity, critical thinking, communication, leadership, decision making, self-regulation and problem solving skills among the children. In this context the emphasis of the NEP to move towards an experiential methodology of learning in schools is a positive step in this direction.
