During the visit, the Geography students of Classes XI and XII were briefly familiarized about the techniques of a series of observational / forecasting work of this office at Central Hydromet Observatory (CHO), National Satellite Meteorological Centre (NSMC) and National Weather Forecast Centre. The process of calculating minimum and maximum temperatures, humidity in the air, wind direction, rainfall intensity and much more was explained to the students via the instruments. Even the process of getting information from the satellites and transmitting it to various organisations and departments as the daily weather forecast was elucidated. The two hours which the students spent in MAUSAM VIBHAG were very informative for further geographical studies and curriculum.
