Festivals are an expressive way to celebrate our glorious heritage, culture and traditions. They play an important role to add structure to our social lives and connect us with our roots. To introduce our little Dipsites to the divinity and beauty of festivals, we at DPS Greater Faridabad celebrated ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ with great pomp and gaiety for the students of Classes Nursery & Prep during an online session on September 10,2021. The enthusiastic participation of our Tiny Tots made the celebration splendid. Through various creative activities, informative presentations and videos the Dipsites learnt more about Lord Ganesha and the significance of this festival. It helped them understand that the festival is marked with the installation of Lord Ganesha’s idol to seek his blessings by offering prayers and sweets. The relevance of ‘Modak and Mouse’ was also beautifully narrated to the Little Ones. Their eyes sparkled with joy as they saw the clippings of colourful and musical processions of ‘Ganesh Visarjan’ and the eventual immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha in water. Our Little Ones were sensitized towards getting eco-friendly idols of Lord Ganesha, minimizing the environmental impact mainly on the water bodies. To mark the occasion students also made an attractive Ganesha idol using play dough which helped in enhancing their creative and fine motor skills. The session came alive with the mesmerizing chanting of ‘Ganpati Bappa Moriya’ and watching our little munchkins dance on the rhythmic beats of the religious song. The celebration brought our little Dipsites much closer to the beauty of Indian culture.
