“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” ― Dr. Seuss
An interactive session was held for our enthusiasts of class III with Ms. Samina Mishra in collaboration with ‘Books en Beyond’ on Friday, 20th August, 2021. Ms. Samina Mishra is a writer, documentary film maker and teacher based in Delhi with a special interest in media for and about children. She read excerpts from her book ‘Nida finds a way’. It is the story of a little girl named Nida who is interested to know how the world works, her Abba and how she learns to ride a bicycle or climb a tree or join a protest. Students enjoyed and learnt to read a story with expressions and voice modulations. After the book reading session, Ms. Samina asked the students to draw Nida or Abba using their own imagination. Our young Dipsites were all excited and showed their excellent artistic skills. This was followed by a question answer session. Ms. Samina told the students that she practices constantly whether it is writing or film making. The author had a number of suggestions for our young dipsites. She advised the students to read a lot, to explore different genres. She also told them that they need to observe, be adventurous and interact with people. This will help them create an environment in their minds to become good writers. Overall, it was a great learning experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
